I have never played this particular game but I've played some of the others in the past and I don't remember them being that bad. I'll get some playtime on this and post a blog on some of the parts us parents might have issues with so you can make your own decisions whether to let your kids play or not.

The think I love about Nintendo in general is that they make a bunch of family friendly games that I enjoy watching my children play as much as I love playing them myself. However, Nintendo loves their games and they don't like to put them on sale, especially anything with their major original characters in them. We took a quick trip up to GA to visit family and my son thought it would be fun to download Five Night at Freddy's 4 and create a jump scare video with everybody that wanted to participate. We got so much footage that we had to break it up into 2 parts. The second part will be coming soon but until then, enjoy.

Lara Croft has been rebooted and I have to say it is a good change. This is more of an Origins story or a prequel so no need to know the older games if you don't want to go back almost 20 years. I played and loved this game from beginning to end. The graphics and story line are amazing and the once clunky control are now more seamless and fluent.
Tomb Raider is rated M for Mature so it's not a family friendly game but I've played it all the way through and with the exception of some PG-13 type language I didn't think it was all that bad. There is some violence but I let both of my 10 year old boys play it and they enjoyed it a lot.

It's not usually family friendly games that are free on the Xbox Marketplace but this month is an exception. So Many Me is a fun puzzle game starring Filo and his band of friendly misfit clones. Join their adventure as they attempt to save a world threatened by a malevolent evil. You can go purchase it for free using the link below or you can find it on you Xbox One dashboard.
In the not so family friendly category is Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The Assassin's Creed franchise has been one of my favorites since Ubisoft created the first on on the Xbox 360. This one is no exception. The primary difference between this and the other entriesnis the fact that you play as a Pirate and a large portion of game-play is done on the open seas as you explore uncharted islands with your own ship. You also use naval war tactics to own the waters by fighting, boarding and looting other vessels... You can even steal the other ships to use as your own. This one has been free for the entire month so if you haven't gotten it yet, whatcha waitin for???

Riddler's Revenge: Riddler has captured Catwoman and you're on a mission to save her. When you first find her you discover that Riddler has given her a new collar that will blow up if she leaves the orphanage. It requires 8 keys to unlock it and you can obtain these 8 keys by finishing 10 riddles.
Riddler's Revenge is by far the largest side mission building up to Count Down to Knightfall. Not only do you have to finished 10 missions but you also have to find all of the Riddler Trophies and solve all of his riddles before you can call this 100% complete. For the sake of time we only recorded the 10 missions that you have to complete. The rest is up to you.
To finish it up you have to Find all of Riddler's informants, the guys highlight in green, and interigate them. If you do this it will put the location of the trophies and riddles on your map. Until then, here are the 10 missions leading up to the final battle.
Here is a quick video guide to help you find the 3 buildings on fire in the Gotham on Fire Most Wanted missions with Firefly. Each video will begin with a location on the map to help you out but overall it's easy to find them buy getting up high and looking around for the smoking buildings.

Batman Arkham Knight Gotham's most wanted. Deacon Blackfire is a cult leader that has to be taken out. Here is where you can find him and how to capture him. Might not be that safe for your children but you can judge for yourself. As you can tell, I was play the game with one of my 10 year olds.
None of these games are particularly family friendly however I play Halo, Skyrim and Batman Arkhm Knight with my older kids. Witcher is a diffferent story, I haven't played it but I remember Witcher 2 having nudity in it.

It's all over the internet and some people are very disturbed by the fact that Swedish YouTuber Felix Kjellberg, AKA PewDiePie, made over $7 million in 2014. I don't know why this is such a big deal and nobody really seems to care about the fact that he helped raise over $1 million in charity.
Right now he is considered the most famous person on YouTube. Times have changed since I was a youngster because when I used to wake up on Saturday morning I would rush into the living room to watch cartoons. Now when kids get out of bed they want to play on the internet and often times that means they want to watch other people play video games on YouTube. The fact that PewDiePie is just shy of 40 million followers and has over 9 billion views should tell you that he is a true entertainer. So why is it such a big deal that he made so much money?
Because of all the noise on social media he decided to make a video to respond to some of the criticism and his response will help you understand why he is so popular. Personally I think he's funny but don't watch him because of his language and I don't want my kids watching him either. But he deserves congratulations on his success and not criticism.
It's official. Lego Dimensions will start taking all of my money on Sep 27th. I highly recommend any Lego video game for hours of family fun and this is one game that the parents will love as much as the children.
The reason Lego Dimensions is so incredible is because it is bringing so many difference licenses into one arena. You'll be able to mix-and-match and play as characters and drive in vehicles from The Lego Movie, The Simpsons, Doctor Who, DC Comics, The Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future, Scooby Doo, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic World, Ninjago and more.
Each vehicle will have 3 different modes to choose from and in order to change those modes you have to physically rebuild the Lego Vehicle sitting on the Dimensions base. To me that's just extremely cool.

If you own a PS4 and not an Xbox One I will never understand your thought process when purchasing consoles. Maybe the PS4 was given to you for free or maybe your opinion doesn't mean anything to me. Regardless, I'm not going to pick on you too much because I've been told by some pretty smart people that the PS4 is a decent console. Who knows, I may purchase one some day.

The Borderlands 2 series isn't the best game for younger kids but if your children are old enough to watch PG-13 movies than I think they'll be safe with this title. Also, is one of the best First Person Shooter co-op games I've ever played. There are literally millions of different guns in the game and the comedy from the cut scenes and None Player Characters is priceless. I got to play some Roblox with Levi yesterday afternoon and noticed that this one game in particular, Work at a Pizza Place, can show children how to work for money so they can purchase upgrades and items for their homes. It could be a good learning experience for children but it felt like a bit of work for me. Anyway, he's Levi showing me around one of the many games in Roblox.

Apparently people in England don't celebrate the 4th of July because during this past holiday weekend London was hosting the Minecraft Conference called Minecon.
There were a few interesting things that came out of Minecon this year including dual wielding, which you can read about here, and how Minecraft is getting a Story Mode.
Telltale games has worked with Mojang to create a series based store mode. And like all other Telltale games the store will change depending on the actions you perform and decisions you make.

The first story based DLC has been given a date a price. The title is "Batgirl: A Matter of Family" and will be free for those who purchased the season pass and cost $6.99 for those who did not. It will be release on the Xbox One and PS4. Unfortunately, The PC version of Batman Arkham Knight had some major issues during the release and was eventually removed from Steam and because of this there is no Release date for the Batgirl DLC on PC at the time.

First and foremost, if you your child likes playing this game and you're not playing with them... get in front of that TV and learn the basics of Mincraft survival until you get hooked like the rest of the world. Mojang announced some new features during the 2015 Minecon that should make some enthusiasts, both young and old, extremely excited.
First off is dual wielding. Typically you have only been able to hold items in your right hand but now you will be able to hold them in both. Some of the useful benefits of this is holding a stack of touches in your left hand and your pickaxe in the right while mining long distance. You will no longer have to switch between items that you use often. You can also switch this combination up for those left handed folks out there.
There will also be new arrows introduced along with new enemies. But another larger announcement is a revamping of "The End". There will now be a different island for the end that will be much like the Neither where you will be able to go and explore. Other ending levels will be created to help mix things up on the way to get to the Ender Dragon.

I don't have a PS4 but I've heard amazing things about this game and wish it was released for the Xbox.
If you heard anything regarding E3 this year you must have noticed a small announcement from Bethesda about a little title called Fallout 4. You may have also heard that if you purchased Fallout 4 this November you would received Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 for free. Well that's not completely true.
The truth came out in a blog post on http://www.bethblog.com/ on July 1st saying that to get Fallout 3 for free you have to pre-order Fallout 4 and this is only for a limited time. You will get a code to download it on your Xbox 360 and once backward compatibility access is made available on Xbox One you will be able to install it there too, also for free.
I'm not sure how many movies they can make about this man. Jobs was a great movie and another one of my favorites was Pirates of Silicon Valley. However the new Steve Jobs movie looks like it will be closely related to the auto biography that I listened to on audio book a couple of months ago so I know what I'm talking about.
I think it would have been cool to have Ashton play in this one just because he looks so much like the real Jobs.

With all of the hype being around Batman Arkham Knight we can't forget about the stories that got Batman to where he is now. Batman Arkham Origins is the prequel to all of the other Batman Arkham games. Toys-r-us has it on sale right now for the PS3 for $6.99 with free in-store pickup. That's a great deal if I've ever seen one.
Marvel has been making some very memorable movies the last few years and they have created a wave that they feel can keep on riding all the way up to 2020. I know everything involving the Avengers has been gold including the two spin-off TV series Agents of Shield and Agent Carter. Guardians of the Galaxy is another favorite for a lot of people and I believe they are going to do crazy good things with Spider-Man... but can they really keep it up?
